Booking an appointment online doesn’t just save time; it ensures you are seen as the “very next patient” even if your queue number has passed. Here is how you can do it via the web or mobile.
How to Book via the Official Portal (cghs.mohfw.gov.in)
In April 2025, the CGHS launched a revamped, unified portal. Follow these steps:
-
Visit the Website: Go to the new official portal: cghs.mohfw.gov.in. (Note: Older links like
cghs.nic.innow redirect here). -
Beneficiary Login: Click on the “Book Appointment” tab.
-
Generate OTP: Enter your Beneficiary ID and the captcha. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
-
Verification: Enter the OTP and click “Proceed.”
-
Select Details: Choose your Specialty (GDMO or Specialist), Dispensary, and Doctor.
-
Pick a Slot: A calendar will appear. Choose a green date and select your preferred time slot.
-
Confirm: Review your details and click “Confirm to Book Appointment.”
-
Confirmation: You’ll receive an SMS instantly. You can also print the confirmation slip for your records.
Booking via the “myCGHS” Mobile App
If you prefer using your smartphone, the myCGHS 2.0 app is the most convenient tool.
-
Download: Available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
-
Key Features: You can book, cancel, and view your medical history, lab reports, and even download your digital CGHS card.
-
Booking Steps: Log in with your Beneficiary ID -> Tap “Book Appointment” -> Select Doctor/Date -> Confirm.

Expert Tips for 2026
-
Unique PAN-based ID: As of late 2025, every beneficiary is mapped to a unique PAN-based ID to prevent duplications. Ensure your PAN is linked for a smoother experience.
-
Digital Health Records: Your prescriptions are now paperless. You can access your “e-Prescription” via the myCGHS app immediately after your consultation.
-
Tele-Consultation: If you don’t need a physical exam, use the e-Sanjeevani option within the CGHS portal for a video call with a doctor.
FAQs: Common Issues
“I’m not receiving the OTP.”
This usually means your mobile number isn’t updated in the system. You must visit your parent Wellness Centre to get your email and phone number registered with the CMO In-charge.
“The doctor I want isn’t listed.”
Doctors are listed based on their availability roster. If a doctor is on leave or on emergency duty, their name will not appear for those specific dates.
